Role models and male bonding for young males!!

Raising males is mostly done by women today and that's no joke! Visit a primary school and see what we mean. Absent fathers are nothing new and I don't think in real terms you could hang your hat on that debate because our history books are full of stories of absent fathers due to world wars, depressions, and men's work commitments to provide for their families.

In past days young men were not competing against young women in great numbers for university places and employment. Young males at school today face a whole new generational change. With schools being basically run by women the sanctuary of male bonding after school is often absent. In a lot of cases the fathers are not absent, but they might as well be...We at malenirvana.com are dedicated to reducing the youth male suicide rate in Australia and New Zealand which unfortunately are some of the highest suicide statistics in the world. We all need to address the serious social issues that develop high male youth suicide rates .Keep Kids Healthy

All sons need to spend time with their fathers and if there is no father the mother cannot replace the bonding a young male needs -fathers for life. So many women are blind to this and many appear to think the less contact their son/s have with male role models the better off they will be because they never encourage it. Women know best?

It seems strange that modern western society has no rite of passage for males. How does a young male know when it's time to be a man?  Looking around the globe at basic tribal culture there are many 'initiations' for young men to cross over into manhood not just physically but spiritually as well. Modern western society ignores that fact and believes young men will make it on their own. With the decaying of the patriarch through feminism and the rapid increase of the matriarch young males are unsure and are confused. Who could blame them?

Boys and adolescent males need male role models! We cover in the women's myths section fatherless daughters, but in a totally different context there is the issue of ' fatherless sons'. For good reading on this go to  "Fatherless Sons". written by New Zealand Author Rex McCann.
