This is a big step and we mean a BIG
step!
There are lots of things to consider when
embarking on a relationship with a woman with children. You might
well be a single man with children of your own divorced or widowed.
You might be a single man with no children about to enter a
relationship with a ready made family...?If the childrens father is
around frequently and has constant and regular contact with the
children this will give you quality time with your partner but If
the father is deceased or not around very much at all this might be
more your taking on than you think.This is a huge step as there is
much to consider for yourself as once you commit to a stepfamily
relationship your responsibilities double. That's the real thing to
remember here.
Stepfamilies of any kind, regardless if
contemporary or multi cultural are still families and they can work
really well. If everyone likes each other it’s so much easier. If
not it could be tricky. There is plenty of excellent literature on
this subject so visit a good book shop and have a look around and
get informed before you make any real
decisions.
