Internet Porn has become like a massive
disease. It's so easily accessable for everyone and almost all
authorities turn a blind eye. A lot of the Internet porn sites we
researched have very dubious membership clauses. That is when you
sign on as a Trial Member and then don't cancel the membership it
automatically charges your credit card for full membership in US$'s
and then continues to charge your credit card until you can
actually cancel the membership. Be very carefull when giving your
credit card details to a porn site and make sure you read all their
terms and conditions. This is a huge wrought world wide.. We
imagine they get a lot of charge backs on this but hey when you
times a few million people x UD$50 it's an easy way to make a
million.
A lot of the porn sites seemed to be ownen
by specific 'Groups' and they are all connected. Most of these are
run from the USA. Australia has strict laws and guidelines for
running porn sites in Australia, it's simple you cannot. It's scary
to think how big this indusrty has become or could become if the
gates were really swung wide open. But like most things it's all
generated from 'Supply & Demand' and it seems the supply and
demand is infinite...
There have been plenty of views written Porn. Views by women on
pornography interest us a great deal so I have done some research
on the most controversial of those -
Andrea Dworkin an american author who passed
away recently and who's admirers hail as a titan of modern
feminism, obituaries describing her as a controversial but noble
crusader against pornography and violence, and even some of her
feminist critics paying
homage to
her alleged achievements, it's important to set the record
straight.
Her books are full of such declarations as,
"Under patriarchy, every woman's son is her potential betrayer and
also the inevitable rapist or exploiter of another woman."
("Patriarchy," of course, covers contemporary Western societies.)
"Male sexuality, drunk on its intrinsic contempt for all life, but
especially for women's lives, can run wild." "Hatred of women is a
source of sexual pleasure for men in its own
right."
Is hatred of women the source of why men
watch pornography or have women seduced men so much with their
beauty and femininity to the point of a blind and insatiable hunger
for more and more porn? Ms Dworkin clearly had her very own
patriarchal views even though they might appear a little
extreme.
I think the pornification of america has
very little to do with the feminists. Perhaps we could argue
initially pornography may have represented some power struggles
with men over women but it could always be argued that women
participated in pornography because they wanted to and not with a
gun to their heads. Money was the motivator and so was the sex! The
team at malenirvana.com has researched this thoroughly . What
we derived from it was a lot of the women acting in these movies
have overactive libido's i.e. they love sex and they love the
money! and they don't mind admitting it. It has become big business
because men like to watch porno's and always
have.
Despite the claims of the
moral
crusadersthat there is "wide community concern" to
support the heavy-handed censorship they favour,
surveys of
Australian adults since at least 1992 have consistently shown vast
support for the availability of X-rated (67%-83%) and R-rated
material (72%-82%) to adults.
The most interesting thing is R
classification permits the depiction of violence, including sexual
violence, whilst the X classification prohibits violence in any
context. Nevertheless X-rated material is illegal to sell or
exhibit in all six Australian States (not the two Territories),
whilst R-rated material is readily and legally available. In other
words, most Australian adults are free to watch depictions of
horrific violent activities resulting in death and maiming, but not
non-violent consenting sexual activities. And we wonder why our
socities and particulary inner cities are being hindered by
violent alcohol related crimes...or an increase in violent
behaviour in general...you go
figure.
